Each tenant will receive at least one key. The key also provides access to the tenants common areas. The key is for personal use only, and must be used responsibly and carefully.
Several TYS housing locations already have an electronically programmable iloQ key system in use. Explore the use of iloQ keys here: iloq . Should the iloQ key suffer damage through incorrect use, (eg. pushing a foreign object into the lock), the repair costs will be charged the tenant.
Moving in and key retrieval
A new tenant will receive the keys from the Housing Office on the first weekday of the month, starting from 12.00 (mid-day). The key can also be picked up at a later stage. Be sure to bring with you an official ID card, and ensure that the deposit has been paid.
If you have signed your rental agreement in advance or electronically, the keys can also be picked up outside office hours if you have agreed on this beforehand with TYS. When a key is lost
Should you lose your keys at any stage during your rental period, please report this to the Housing Office immediately. The cost for a lost key will be charged according to the charge sheet list for liabilities. Furthermore, an assessment for each individual case will be made regarding whether the lock needs to be changed or re-serialized. The cost of replacement or re-serialization will be charged the tenant in accordance with the charge sheet for liability.
Keys for storage booths and car heating posts
The storage booths in some housing locations are equipped with a TYS lock. The car heating posts also have a separate key. Please pick up your key from the Housing Office when your reservation begins. Be prepared to provide proof of identity.
Door access code
Some of the exterior doors of the TYS locations are equipped with a code device. If the code is not known to you, please inquire about it from the Housing Office. The access code should be stored with similar care as a so called traditional key would be.
A spare key may be obtained free of charge from the Housing Office during the opening hours, be prepared to prove your identity.
Opening doors outside office hours
Outside office hours, ISS, tel. +358 20 515 9268, will take care of opening the doors. A fee will be charged for the door service, in accordance with the ISS price list (52,08€). The tenant must be able to verify their identity.
Moving day and returning the keys
After the rental agreement has expired, the keys should be returned to the Housing Office on the next working day of the following month by 12.00 (mid-day).
The tenant moving out, must return all keys to the Housing Office no later than the next day after the tenant has moved out. Please note, that the new tenant moving in, will receive the keys on the first weekday of the first month at 12 noon, even if you have not returned all your keys.
You may also choose to return the key before your lease expires. When you move out of your apartment, the key/keys must be returned to the Housing Office. Outside office hours the keys can be returned to the Housing Office’s post box (on the wall, on the right side of the front door) by placing them in an envelope with your name and address on it. In addition to the apartment keys, please also remember to return possible keys to the car parking space, storage cubicle or tenant committee.
Key assignment agreement
If the tenant moving out wishes to exchange keys directly with the tenant moving in, we recommend that you contact the Housing Office in advance, in order to verify the identity of the new tenant.
