Arrival & Keys
You can pick up the key earliest on the first working day of the month after midday (meaning the month when the lease starts). The key is available only during office hours, not on weekends or public holidays. If you are arriving later than in the beginning of the month then you can pick up the key when arriving (during office hours). Please note that the time when you pick up the key does not affect on the rent, the rent is paid for the full semester.
If you are arriving outside of office hours, you can ask your tutor student from your arrival university to pick up the key for you. Please contact your arrival university to find out who’s going to be your tutor.
If you lock yourself out, you can borrow a spare key from TYS housing office during the office hours. At all other times the maintenance company ISS takes care of opening doors (tel. 020 515 9268). This service is chargeable (52,08€) and a tenant must be able to prove his/hers identity.
If you loose your key, please contact us.
If you have questions concerning:
* application, contract, tenant page and/or keys etc.: firstname.lastname@example.org
* cleaning, the condition of the room, maintenance, etc.: email@example.com
* payments: firstname.lastname@example.org
Please remember to visit the Housing Office after your arrival for signing your lease.
After arrival and moving in, every tenant needs to check the condition of the apartment and fill in the apartment form at Tenant Pages. Apartment form is really important to fill in, since this document is checked when we return the deposit payment after moving out. If you notice that something is not working in your apartment when checking the condition or later on during your stay, please fill in the notice of defects form at the Tenant Pages.
The student unions of the universities in Turku (TYY, ÅAS), the student union of the Novia University of Applied Sciences (Novium), and the Turku University of Applied Science (TUAS) run a starting package storage where exchange students can borrow a package with household items which they then return before they leave Turku. More information can be found here.
