Each tenant gets minimum one key, and school-aged children can also get a key of their own. With the key you can also gain entrance to the common areas meant for tenants. You are personally liable for the key and it should be used responsibly and with care. In case you lose the key, please contact the Housing Office. In most cases the tenant is responsible for covering the costs that might arise from getting a new key or changing the lock.
When your lease begins, you can get the key on the first working day of the month at 12 o’clock. After this the keys can be picked up any working day during the office hours. If you’ve already signed your lease, you can pick up the keys also outside the office hours. You can find more information about picking up the keys outside the office hours here: TYS keys can also be collected from the R-kioski of Caribia
When moving out, the keys have to be returned to the Housing Office. If you wish to return the key outside office hours, you can leave the key in an envelope in the Housing Office’s mailbox. Be sure to mark your name and the address of the apartment on the envelope
If a tenant moving out and the new tenant moving in can make arrangements for the release of keys and the apartment we recommend to use this form: Key agreement for tenants’ use
During office hours, you can get a spare key from the Housing Office free of charge. At all other times the maintenance company ISS takes care of opening doors (tel. 020 515 9268). This service is chargeable (52,08€) and a tenant must be able to prove his/hers identity.
