Ending Your Lease

If you want to end your contract, please visit the Housing Office. If you have a Finnish social security number then you can fill Irtisanomislomake form online in Finnish or Swedish if wanted, otherwise the notice has to be written and done personally in the Housing Office. If you have a lease together with your spouse, both persons have to give the notice. Also note that if the lease is a fixed-term lease, there are restrictions for ending your lease.

Please note that by the rental law you have one full month's notice time for ending your lease (not concerning exchange students staying only one semester because exchange students have fixed-term contracts). For example if you want to cancel your lease in April the notice time is full May and the contract will end in the end of May.
