Filling a housing application

Fill only one application per person/family! It is possible to apply three (3) months before the need for accommodation and latest 6 weeks before arrival. Application form is submitted via TYSKampus system. You don't need to send a copy of your admission letter if not asked to.

Everyone needs to fill an individual housing application. Fill the information asked in the application form clearly and accurately. Exchange students arriving with a partner/family should contact the Housing Office in advance. Please also notify us in advance if you have for example some medical reasons or other things that affect your living conditions.

Important!

Please make sure that the email address, that you give in the application form, is working as we contact you via email.
If you don't know your contact person's information yet, you can leave that field empty.
Housing period always start on the first day of the month and end on the last day of the month, even if you arrive in the middle of the month. Also the rent is paid in full months!
The lease for exchange students is always fixed-term and is always made for the whole term when the lease starts in August, September or January:

Autumn semester: 1.8./1.9. - 31.12.

Spring semester: 1.1. - 31.5.
You are liable for paying rent for the whole duration of your lease, even if you move out earlier. The fixed-term leases that are made under 12 months will have an additional office fee of 60 €, it's a one-time payment and it will be added to the first rent invoice.
If you want to be situated in the same apartment or location with your friend please write this information and your friend's name to the comment field.
The housing options for exchange students are a room in shared apartment or a room in the Student Hostel. Note that the housing option you choose is not guaranteed, it is only a preferation. In the application form you can choose housing type option, if you have a special housing area you wish to be located in write this information to the application form's comment field. You don't need to send a separate attachments about the income and assets if not asked to. You just mark your own estimate about your income during your studies. The monthly income means study grant plus other possible income per month (total amount before reducing taxes etc.). The applicant agrees to give information about incomes, assets and taxes if asked to.
If there is a field that does not concern you, you can leave it empty. Only few fields are obligatory for submitting the form.

After submitting the housing application

You will receive these to your email after submitting the application form successfully. Username and password are like an electrical signature, for example when you accept the housing offer, so do not give those to another person.

The housing offer

You will be notified 4-6 weeks before your arrival via email when the possible housing offer arrives to TYSKampus. Housing offer can be accepted only via TYSKampus. For more information about the lease/payments etc, please see: Important information about the lease
